Don Mackay appointed CEO of Rangers Valley
Rangers Valley Cattle Station Pty Ltd has announced the appointment of Don Mackay to the position of Chief Executive Officer. The position has become available following the decision by the current Managing Director, Mr Malcolm Foster to retire at the end of this year.
Rangers Valley operates a 32,000 head feedlot near Glen Innes in New South Wales and produces high quality Angus and Wagyu grainfed beef for Australian and World markets. The company is owned by the Marubeni Corporation of Japan.
Mr Mackay has had a long association with rural business in Australia, starting with Elders Pastoral and culminating in the position of Managing Director of the Australian Agricultural Company, a position he held for 9 years.
The Managing Director of Rangers Valley, Mr Malcolm Foster said that “the Company was delighted to have secured the services of such a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive and was looking forward to Don taking the business to the next stage of its development.”
“The Company has now been in business for 20 years and has built an enviable reputation for quality in all markets where it operates. Although the last few years had been difficult, the company was confident that circumstances where now much more positive.” Mr Foster said. “The lower grain prices and more favourable Australian dollar exchange rate would see Australian grainfed beef in general, and Rangers Valley beef in particular, in a much better competitive situation going forward.
Mr Mackay will take up his new position on 20th April and will be based at the Rangers Valley Station at Glen Innes.
